Exhibit: To start with, Dev is all set for release and is anticipated to be a blockbuster already, how excited are you?
RAKUL PREET: I am very excited. Every film comes with the same amount of excitement as you put in the same effort for each one. I’m really excited about 2019 on the whole.
Exhibit: We are eagerly waiting for your two movies releasing this year. Tell us about your role in those movies.
RAKUL PREET: Well, both the roles are extremely exciting and different from each other. De De Pyaar De is a new age romantic comedy. I can’t reveal much about the movie but it’s out in March and I’d love for you to see it. I can talk more about it closer to the release. It’s a fun role, and something I haven’t done before. There’s a lot of prep that went into it and the story is such that everybody will surely enjoy it.
Marjawaan, on the other hand, is absolutely opposite of what De De Pyaar De is. It’s yet another out of the box role with really heavy dialogues. There’s masala, there’s action; it’s a very ‘Milap’ film. He was really excited about the fact, that the girl has all these power-packed dialogues and it’s something I am really looking forward to. And I really hope that you guys enjoy both the films!
Exhibit: Rendering the legendary actress, Sridevi Ji on screen, would have been a great honour, how difficult was it?
RAKUL PREET: I wouldn’t say it’s easy or difficult, rather it’s a challenge when you’re doing a biopic and especially recreating scenes by someone. And Sridevi ji? I can’t be her, nobody can be her. She’s the first-ever female superstar that Bollywood saw, so I am extremely honoured to be playing her part and I just hope that I have lived up to it. […]
