Editor’s Note December 2019
It’s reflection time, since it is December and soon we will be in the cusp of 2020 looking hard at the year gone by and making promises to our self for the coming year. Promises, another word is the new year resolutions and all the grand plans of changing the world and changing everything – that dream Job, 300% growth in business, 6 pack abs, being a better person and then we are staring hard as the year evaporates and promises renewed. I came across this quite a fascinating TED Talk by this Brazilian business visionary, Ricardo Semler who said that he had sleepless nights on the thought – How would he like to be remembered? Then he again thought hard why would he like to be remembered? It’s a deep thought and explains why we should start with the ‘Why’ always before anything. Why do you want the 6 pack abs? Why waste so much time giving interviews to land that dream job, when you could work harder and shine in your present one? Why do you need a 300% growth and lose sleep, family life and stretch your stress levels? If you have convincing answers then go for the kill.
For us, we are going to be in the top of our gear with our scratch line being Las Vegas – CES, undoubtedly the biggest consumer tech show in the world and the biggest auto media brand in the world, ‘Top Gear’ comes to our stable. Excited, it is a very mellow word to ‘exhibit’ our state of mind. And are going to launch the second stint of Top Gear in India with our 2nd edition of Auto Tech awards on the 29th January. So, it’s going to be one crazy start for us in 2020. Last month we had wrapped up our 6th edition of Exhibit Tech awards and a big Thank You to our esteemed jury, also a big round of applause to all the winners who stood the test of month-long open public voting on thetechy. com and finally our jury round. Meet the winners and the contenders inside.
The Alphabet always starts these days with Google, “Let’s Google it,” is the norm and the Alphabet ironically is also the parent company of Google, and Sundar Pichai has been elevated to the pole position of being its CEO. His fingers were already busy answering all the ‘Google it’ questions and now the whole of Alphabet. Someone once said, “If you want something done give it to a busy man,” Cannot agree more on this.
Until we meet again with new promises and resolutions; all charged up, we wish you a great December and a HAPPY NEW YEAR
