If you can’t keep your eyes of the phone even when you are driving, if you keep on checking your phone instead of working on priority, or you can’t stop your Facebook browsing even during a romantic dinner, then it is clear that your phone is intruding in your life, and you are addicted to it.

Don’t ever Lose Sleep Over your mobile

Late at nights, you can’t help but keep on fidgeting with your phone, be it social media, gaming apps, or text messaging. If you do that, keep in mind that you are losing valuable sleep over your addiction. If you stop caring for your basic requirements and senselessly use your time and energy into your device, then you are permitting your cell phone to prioritize over your health and well-being. If you find yourself in such a scenario, then power off your device an hour before going to bed. Make sure your final hour of the day is spent in a consequential manner. Your phone just isn’t worth losing your sleep over, so go to bed on time and start the next day fresh.

Rule: No Cell Phones in the car

Make it a law. Never use cell phones while in cars. It is not possible for your mind to be at two places at the same time. You cannot drive and pay attention to your phone at once. Driving is one of those activities where you need to always keep your eyes on the road. Whenever you are driving, always make sure that you do not keep your phone within your sight so that you are not even tempted to take a look at it. Keep in mind that your life and other people’s lives are at stake here.

Don’t pick up your phone in the first 30 minutes of your day

If checking your cell phone is something that you do the moment you open your eyes, then you have got a serious problem. Your first 30 minutes of awakening should solely be allocated to contriving an amazing start to your day. Just don’t peak at your phone the moment you get up. Instead, get out of bed, freshen up, exercise a bit and serve yourself a healthy breakfast.

It is time to get Real

Reality is nothing but just drifting away from being all that virtual. Getting real includes sharing a meaningful conversation with an actual person or going physically out for a meal or a cup of coffee with people. It is important to have someone right in front of you to engage with. Is it that nowadays your virtual friends and virtual text conversations have gained more importance than the physical once sitting in front of you? Hands down, paying attention to your mobile when someone is sitting in front of you is disrespectful. Your friend might be courteous enough to allow you to excuse you to check your phone… But really, such a behavior is not permissible. By doing so, what you are implying is that the one virtual message is more important than your friend. If someone has taken time out of his/her busy life to meet you, and share some quality time with you, then by turning your attention away, you are unavoidably saying, “you are not that important.”

Make Some No-Phone Areas

Factually speaking, if you have your cell phone nearby at work, it is alright. In fact, sometimes having your mobile close at hand also becomes a necessity. Now, the point here is whether that ping of your phone is work-related. Even if it is work-related, that particular phone alert is rarely related to the issue at hand. If it is very easy for you to get distracted by your phone going off, then you won’t be able to focus on the work in front of you. This will in turn decrease your productivity. Therefore, it is advisable to create a no-phone time-zone. How this works is that at least 2 hours of your day, you need to shut off your phone, and stay completely focused to the work that is in front of you. Mobile addiction has turned out to be a big time a sickness now, for us all. Come on people! It is high time we get real!
