Despacito – the global Spanish smash hit racked up the latest record by becoming the most-viewed video on YouTube. The second on the list of the most-watched video is See You Again. Despacito has been logged 2.995 billion views on YouTube on Friday if we only talk about the afternoon time. This has been claimed by the US East Coast which also states that See You Again by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth is in the second with 2.994 billion views. The racy Spanish hit throbbing with sexual innuendo has already earned the title of the most streamed song of all time.

The Puerto Rican Singer – Luis Fonsi’s song Despacito which means ‘slowly’ has surpassed See You Again which was on the number one spot the previous month. With this, Despacito also breaks the four and a half year long run of the very famous Korean song Psy’s Gangnam Style.This track went viral very soon just after it was released in January and by April it became a rage when a remix was launched featuring the pop star Justin Beiber.
The remix version featuring Beiber has logged 12 weeks at No.1 on the US singles chart. This also made a record to be the first Spanish song launched to reach the top spot since Macarena in 1996 and also Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You.
The song’s label, Universal Music Latin Entertainment said on 19th July, “Despacito in its original and remixed versions had reached 4.6 billion streams across platforms including YouTube and Spotify.” Puerto Rican rapper Daddy Yankee who is featured on Despacito Video and has almost 17 Million followers on Instagram posted on Instagram and wrote, “Thank you all for supporting since day one!”
According to YouTube record terms, Psy’s Gangnam Style has been left behind on Friday with 2.92 billion views. Gangnam Style was the first video song to reach1 Billion views on YouTube and made the site’s engineers to make changes when it again topped 2.1 Billion views which were earlier thought to be the maximum possible number of views.
